Karina Hollekim
Karina Hollekim (born April 25, 1976) is a Norwegian free skier and BASE jumper. She is the only female athlete who ever completed a ski BASE. She is also the only professional Norwegian BASE jumper.
In August 2006 she had a near-fatal crash during a routine parachuting jump, in which her legs were severely injured. Although doctors said she'd never walk again, after multiple surgeries she has recovered sufficiently to have limited mobility.
Her biographical movie 20 Seconds of Joy was well received and won both the Best film on Mountainsports as well as the People's choice awards at the 2007 Banff Mountain Film Festival.
