Early Entry numbers strong for Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Enduro
Thursday, 17 December 2009 03:34
Interest in the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro is high with 30 cars entered for the Event over the weekend of February 12-14. Entries are still open for another month. A majority of the 2009 class winners are returning to the Event including; TMR Australia who took out the 12 Hour in a Mitsubishi Lancer RS, Barry Morcom will participate again in his BMW 335i in Class B – High Performance Rear Wheel, Garth Walden has entered Class C for Performance Sedans in a Holden Commodore SS VE and Matthew Windsor will make a return to Class E – Production Small in the same Subaru Impreza 2.5.

To date, the following production cars have entered; Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo 9 GSR, Mitsubishi Evo X, BMW 130i, Ford BF, Ford FG, Mazda 3 MPS, Holden Commodore SS VE, Toyota Corolla Sportiva, Honda Integra S, Subaru Impreza 2.5, Toyota Yaris, Holden Commodore SS VE Ute and a Nissan 350 Z. First time appearances include the BMW 135i, FPV F6 Typhoon and Renault Clio 197.

Event Promoter James O’Brien is pleased with the current entries and has been informed of more cars that are due to enter by the end of January.

“I’m aware of at least another dozen cars planning to enter. Given the financial issues of the last year, we have had a great response and I’m pleased with the amount of entries to date. Entries don’t close until the end of January so there is still plenty of time for teams to get their entries in,” said O’Brien.

The Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro is now in its 4th year, with a grid of over 50 cars expected to compete. The race features production cars in a class structure representative of the mass road going market. BMW, Mitsubishi, Ford, Holden, Nissan and Subaru are expected to compete for outright honours, while an Alternative Energy class is open to diesel, hybrid and LPG entries.

The Event will be televised in a 3 hour special on the SEVEN Network, through Fox Sports, New Zealand and other International Markets.
