Red Bull City Scramble brings the hugely popular sport of Off Road Enduro riding to a unique urban setting in downtown Auckland. Taking a sport which previously distanced the spectator by remote rural locations, to an intense crowd packed inner city arena. NZ’s star of Enduro, Chris Birch has conceptualised this event, as a sponsored athlete project with Red Bull. The course will feature elements that have never been seen before, plus all the obstacles that make Endurocross such an intense sport such as logs, rocks and water. City Scramble will be tight aggressive racing that will let the best Enduro riders in New Zealand and the rest of the world show off their skills. Red Bull City Scramble will invite stars of the international Enduro circuit to line up against our best national riders. Unlike traditional long Enduro events, racing on the day will be in Supercross format with heats, semi's and a grand final taking 4 hours total to complete. This is a unique and innovative event that will bring Auckland City alive. Where: Britomart, Auckland When: Sunday May 31st (rain date – Monday June 1) With over 50 invited riders confirmed, with the prize up for grabs being a trip to Erzberg to watch the Red Bull Hare Scramble which takes place a week after the event, the racing is sure to be aggressive and very competitive THE COURSE The course is technical and for the advanced/expert rider. Logs, rocks, water, tyres, jumps, and even a banked wallride will test rider and machine to the limits  RUN SCHEDULE Friday May 29 – 6pm Course build commences Saturday May 30 - 10pm Course build finished Sunday May 31 - 6am to 10am Riders arrive to register Scrutineering Pits set up - 10am to 11.30am Practice - 12pm Heats 1 to 4 - 3pm to 330pm Semi finals - 3.45pm to 4pm Finals - 4pm Prize giving This will have a very wide audience appeal, from the Enduro rider right through to the youngsters of a family. With grandstand seating for 1400 people and free admission to the event we expect 6,000 spectators on the day. Food and beverages, toilets and even a licensed area are all catered for in the event space.
