Hey Crew

 Any one who watches the MTV Nitro Circus series will have seen Andy Bell set the Guiness World Record for the longest stoppie (front wheel wheelie) on a dirt bike (must have dirt tyres) at 188ft in 2008.

 The promoters of 'Biketoberfest' (an annual motorcycle festival here in Christchurch) approached me asking if I'd like to attempt to officially break that record at their event in October. How could I say no!

 Having not ridden a dirt bike since I retired in late 2008 to start skydiving, I figured I better get some practice. Sportzone Suzuki were kind enough to let me borrow a brand new RM-X450 to practice on. After 18 months of not riding, on the first day of testing/practice I stomped a whopping 223ft - absolutely smashing the World Record.

This was an unofficial attempt and will not count towards the record but it was a hell of a confidence booster.

The video below doesnt do the stoppie any justice because of the angle - but you have to remember I'm 5th gear on a 450 at 70mph on concrete - simply look at the background to get reference of how fast im travelling.

Be sure to check back here for the official Guiness World Record attempt results in October where I plan to break the 250ft mark thanks to Demon Energy!
