Explanation of times in event schedule:
Women’s Jams and Final: The times for the Women’s jams are based on up to 14 Women entering. There will be two Women’s jams on the 1st day, and then a final for the top three female skaters on the 2nd day.
Qualifying rounds for Open and 16 & Under Divisions: The qualifying rounds for both the 16 & Under and Open divisions will consist of one minute runs. Each skater will have one run, death or glory style.
The schedule is based on 80 skaters entering in each of the Open and 16 & Under divisions’ qualifying rounds, they will have 1 min each to skate with the schedule then allowing 30 sec for the transition to the next skater. Skaters will be split into heats of five, each skating directly after the previous one, then there will be 5 mins practice for the next five, then they skate one after the other, etc.
Semi finals for Open and 16 & Under Divisions: The semi-finals will have up to 34 skaters in each of the men’s divisions. There will have been roughly 12 Regional competitions around the country, which means there will be approximately 24 skaters pre-qualified in the 16 & Under and Open divisions (1st and 2nd in each division).
The semi-finals will consist of two one minute runs for each skater, run in the same style as the qualifying round, with each group of five skaters having their 1st run one after the other, then two minutes to practice, then their 2nd run one after the other, in the same order.
Finals for Open and 16 & Under Divisions: The Finals will have ten skaters in them, run in the same format as the semi finals, except at the end of their second runs, the top three skaters at that point will compete in a ‘super final’ which will consist of each of the top skaters having an extra run, which count towards the final result.
Best Trick competition: There will be $500 up for grabs for the best trick on each of four selected obstacles (four obstacles, four lots of $500 – $2000 in total). Any skaters that have entered the nationals are eligible for the best trick competition. Skaters will have up to 10 minutes to land the best trick they can on each obstacle, before the focus moves on to the next obstacle.
