Von Zipper Rail Shred Starts with A Bang
Sunday, 19 September 2010 06:11
The Scene was set last week as the sun rose revealing a fresh dusting of snow and clear skies at Snow Park. The course directors said, “game on” and the Billabong Bro Down kicked off with the Von Zipper Rail Shred..

A host of International and local riders put on a high stakes show for the crowd, as they shredded rail, looking to win the Pacific Blue flights to anywhere in the South Pacific.

Taking out the mens division was Kiwi Nick Poochoff, winning both the Best Overall and best trick pulling a 50-50 – Frontside 270 – frontside boardsider to regular out.

The womens division was highly competitive with Rebbecca Torr, pushing the skill level, but it was Stefi Luxton who took best trick with a 50-50 – swivel switch on the round bar and Christy Prior taking out the Best overall with her styling tail presses.

Junior Mens started with a couple casualties but quickly became swamped by Jay Walsh who tookout best overall and best trick.

The event was finished off with Von Zipper putting on a mellow sausage sizzle keeping all spectators and riders stoked.

The Von Zipper rail shred pres. by Pacific Blue was also supported by Monster, Sony and Snow Park.
