New Zealand’s best female surfers tackled clean but challenging conditions on day two of the Rip Curl Pro being held at Manu Bay, Raglan this weekend (26th – 28th February). The finalists were found in the Women’s Division while the Under 20 Men’s Division also endured a long day of surfing. |

Organisers of event two of the Billabong Grom Series presented by Oceanbridge breathed a sigh of relief this morning when greeted with clean 1.0m waves for the finals. With the previous day showing signs of a fastly depleting swell, it was smiles all round when competitors arrived to find very contestable left and right-hand breaking waves on Whangamata’s beach.

Gisborne surfer Maz Quinn took a convincing victory at the Billabong Pro completed at Whangamata today (Monday 1st February). The win elevates him from 13th to first on the Export Gold Series ratings after two of five events for the season.

The Export Gold Series – New Zealand’s premier surf series kicked in to action today (Saturday 30th January) hot on the heals of the ISA World Junior Championship. New Zealand’s best surfers got their campaigns underway at the Billabong Pro at Whangamata on the first day of the event.
