Wave Nationals in Taranaki
Sunday, 02 November 2008 00:00

Spend time riding down the line with fellow wave enthusiasts and unanimously naming the best national wave rider. At the same time Discover the beautiful coast line and pristine wave spots around Mt Taranaki.

Wave Nationals in Taranaki

Entry Fee is $50 early - $100 late.

The event is a non profitable event and all entry fees, sponsorship funds and other income will be used for organizing the event. Any unanticipated profit will be donated to The Child Cancer Foundation.
We invite all manufacturers, importers, distributors, etc. to bring your demo gear for testing.

Goals

* Spend as much time as possible riding down the line with fellow wave enthusiasts and unanimously naming the best national wave rider.
* Discovering the beautiful coast line and pristine wave spots around Mt Taranaki.
* Enter a competition you might be able to win without knowing how to throw handle passes and maybe even with gray hair.
* Walk away with some serious prizes even if you never had the fortitude to head out in triple head high waves.
* Testing all the available gear out there.
* Promoting down the line wave riding amongst kiteboarders and offer helpful tips for novices.
* Promoting our sport amongst surfers.
* Supporting the Child Cancer Foundation should we make a profit.

Time Line

We do not need much wind, but we need 12 knots. By selecting a 4 day window we should be able to get a few sessions in. We will only extend the competition till Monday, November 17, 2008 if we had 3 days of absolutely no wind and the forecast looks extremely good.
We will meet on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 11 am at a location to be announced.
We cannot predetermine the locations for the event and will head wherever the wind is blowing somewhere around the massive coast line of Mt Taranaki. We will announce the locations through this website, via text messages and skippers’ meetings.

Event Organiser is Ralph from Eclipse Kites in Tauranga.
